I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembering joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these thing, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life’s been full, I savored much.
Good friends, good times,
A loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.

In my lifetime, I will always feel a deep sense of thankfulness, gratitude, and immense blessing for having had a mother as extraordinary as mine. Mom’s passions revolved around her beloved family, her adventurous spirit for travel, and her keen interest in photography. She was the one who genuinely taught me to discover and appreciate the beauty in every little thing around us.
Together with my father, they became wonderful role models to look up to, demonstrating what it truly means to be in love and how to navigate the complexities of life together, “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health.” It was profoundly humbling to witness the countless sacrifices that both Mom and Dad made to ensure that my brother and I had everything we needed and cherished while growing up. I cannot express enough gratitude for the way they lovingly raised us and shaped us into the man and woman we are today, carrying forward the invaluable lessons they imparted throughout the years.
My mom touched so many lives with her kindness and warmth and will never be forgotten by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. She truly had a unique ability to light up every room she entered with her beautiful smile and radiant spirit. She would have wanted everyone to savor each day, to practice kindness and compassion, create wonderful memories, take more pictures, and love with an open heart.
To honor her cherished memory, please take a moment to treasure each day, as tomorrow is never promised. In Mom’s favorite words,
“Live, Laugh, and Love because You Only Live Once.”
