About Us
It all began in our hometown in Virginia. We met, we fell in love, and decided we wanted to spread our wings and experience new adventures from the East Coast to the Final Frontier!
My name is Jordan, and my husband’s name is Adam. We were both born and raised in a quaint, small coal town area located in Southwest Virginia. Running wild and free in the picturesque Appalachian and Smoky mountains, we quickly developed a deep love and appreciation for the great outdoors. Both of our families spent countless memorable days at "The Lake," in the beautiful state of Tennessee. It was there that we learned the joys of fishing, whether we were out on boats or relaxing lakeside. When the warm summer weather began to fade and the coolness of autumn breezes set in, that is when we would eagerly throw on our camouflage gear and venture into the woods to try our luck at hunting. Many dinners were made with venison from that season’s haul.
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the young age of two. It was a significant challenge that my family was suddenly faced with, but they learned to overcome these difficulties and not let it hinder us from truly enjoying life to the fullest. My mom and dad always took such incredibly great care of me, and they made numerous sacrifices throughout the years, ensuring that my brother and I had everything that we needed to thrive. When Adam and I started dating, I had the wonderful pleasure and opportunity of teaching him all about diabetes, so that we could both be fully prepared for anything that might come our way.
As a child, my mother was more than a photographer; she was an artist who captured moments that shared amazing stories. Her passion inspired my love for photography and helped me appreciate the beauty in everything. I hope you enjoy my work on our blog! Adam and I will share our experiences from Alaska, based on what we learned growing up in Virginia's mountains, reflecting on our journey. Life in Alaska is quite different from "The Lower 48," offering a mix of beauty and challenges.
