About Us

Our story began in the mountains of our hometown in Virginia, where we met, fell in love, and started dreaming about what life might look like beyond the place we had always called home. Eventually, those dreams gave us the courage to spread our wings, chase a little adventure, and trade the familiar mountains of Southwest Virginia for the wild beauty of the Last Frontier.

What started as two small-town kids falling in love has become a life filled with adventure, family, unforgettable memories, and a whole lot of stories along the way. And we’re so happy you’re here to share a little piece of it with us.

My name is Jordan, and my husband, Adam, and I were both born and raised in a small coal-country community tucked away in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. It was the kind of place where the mountains were always on the horizon, back roads led to some of the best adventures, and being outdoors wasn’t something we had to learn to love—it was simply part of growing up.

We spent our childhoods running wild and free through the beautiful Appalachian and Smoky Mountains, surrounded by a landscape that helped shape who we would become. Long before we knew one another would someday be our forever person, we were both growing up with many of the same simple joys: fresh mountain air, muddy shoes, winding country roads, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Some of our fondest memories were made at what our families simply called “The Lake” in Tennessee. Countless days were spent there with the people we loved, fishing from the bank or heading out on the boat to see what we could catch. Of course, the fish weren’t always biting—but somehow, that never seemed to matter. Those days were about so much more than what ended up on the end of a fishing line. They were about sunshine on the water, laughter with family, and the kind of memories you don't realize are precious until years later.

Then summer would slowly give way to fall. The air would turn crisp, the mountains would begin changing into brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, and out came the camouflage. Hunting season meant heading into the woods, trying our luck on bringing in venison, turkey, or squirrel. When the season was successful, meat from that season's harvest would find its way onto the dinner table—another reminder that the outdoors wasn't simply where we went for recreation. It was woven into the way we lived.

Looking back now, I think those early years gave Adam and me something we didn't fully appreciate at the time. They taught us to find happiness in simple things: a quiet morning in the woods, a day spent beside the water, a meal shared with family, and time together without needing anything fancy to make it special.

Those mountains were where we grew up, but they were also where the first pieces of our story were quietly being written—long before either of us knew just how much of that life we would one day carry forward together.

I was just two years old when I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes—far too young to understand how much life was about to change, not only for me, but for my entire family. Suddenly, my parents were faced with learning an entirely new way of caring for their little girl, with responsibilities and worries they never could have anticipated.

But if there is one thing my family taught me from the very beginning, it is that diabetes could be a part of my life without becoming my whole life.

My mom and dad took incredible care of me. They learned everything they could, made countless sacrifices, lost sleep, worried more than I probably ever knew, and did everything in their power to make sure I was safe and healthy. At the same time, they made sure my brother and I still had a childhood filled with adventure, laughter, family, and all of those wonderfully ordinary moments that make growing up so special.

Because of them, I never grew up believing that diabetes meant I couldn't live a full life. We still went to the lake. We still explored the mountains. We still traveled, laughed, made memories, and enjoyed life together. There may have been a little more planning involved—and a few extra supplies packed along for the ride—but diabetes was never allowed to take those experiences away from us.

Years later, when Adam and I began dating, diabetes naturally became something he needed to understand, too. Suddenly, I found myself teaching him the things my family and I had known for so many years: what to watch for, what to do when something wasn't right, and how to handle the unexpected moments that sometimes come along with Type 1.

And he learned.

What began as me teaching the man I loved how to care for me became another beautiful reminder of something I had been fortunate enough to know my entire life: when you are surrounded by people who truly love you, you don't have to face the difficult parts of life alone. ❤️

Growing up, my mother was rarely far from a camera. But to me, she was always so much more than a photographer. She was an artist—a storyteller who had an incredible ability to capture a moment and preserve the feeling inside of it.

Through her photographs, she taught me something I don't think she ever had to put into words: there is beauty everywhere if you slow down long enough to notice it.

Her passion became part of me. She inspired my own love of photography and taught me to appreciate the little details that might otherwise pass us by—the way sunlight falls across a mountain, the reflection of a perfect sky on the water, the changing colors of a season, or the candid moments between the people we love. A photograph can hold onto something that time cannot, and I think that is part of why I have always loved being behind a camera.

That love is woven throughout 907 Heaven.

Adam and I created this little corner of the world to share the life we've built together here in Alaska—the breathtaking places we've discovered, the adventures we've stumbled into, the lessons we've learned, and even some of the challenges that come with calling the Last Frontier home.

Although Alaska is a long way from the mountains of Southwest Virginia where our story began, in many ways, it feels like those mountains prepared us for this life. We brought our love of the outdoors with us. We brought our curiosity, our willingness to explore, and our appreciation for a life that doesn't always need to be polished or perfect to be beautiful.

And Alaska has certainly given us plenty to appreciate.

Life here can be breathtaking one moment and humbling the next. It is wild, rugged, unpredictable, and sometimes downright difficult—but it is also filled with the kind of beauty that can stop you in your tracks. Through our photographs and stories, we hope to give you an honest glimpse into all of it: what it takes to live here, the places that have stolen our hearts, the adventures that have made us laugh, and the moments that have reminded us just how fortunate we are to call this incredible place home.

Most of all, we hope 907 Heaven inspires you to notice a little more beauty in your own world—and perhaps even encourages you to come experience Alaska for yourself.

So whether you're dreaming about your first Alaskan adventure, curious about what life in the Last Frontier is really like, or simply here to wander through the photographs and stories with us, we're glad you found your way here.

Welcome to our little piece of 907 Heaven. ❤️

And this is only the beginning.

There is still so much of Alaska left for us to explore, photograph, experience, and share—and we would love for you to come along for the journey.

By subscribing below, you'll be among the first to know whenever we share something new from our little corner of the Last Frontier. We'll take you along on our adventures, introduce you to some of the incredible places we've discovered, share helpful information we've learned from living here, and offer practical tips to help you feel a little more prepared when it's finally your turn to head North.

We'll talk about the beautiful parts of Alaska, of course—but we'll also talk about the realities of being here. The weather, the wildlife, the distances, the things you should know before venturing into the backcountry, and those little pieces of local knowledge that can make an Alaskan adventure safer, easier, and even more memorable.

Our hope is for 907 Heaven to become more than a collection of beautiful photographs and stories. We want it to be a place you can return to when you're planning an adventure, looking for inspiration, searching for an answer, or simply dreaming about Alaska from somewhere far away.

And if there's ever something you can't find within these pages, please reach out to us. Ask us questions. Tell us what you're curious about. Let us know what you'd love to see next. If our experiences can help make someone else's journey to Alaska a little easier—or a whole lot more exciting—we're more than happy to share what we've learned.

After all, someone else's love for capturing beautiful moments helped inspire this journey in the first place.

Maybe something you find here will inspire yours.

So stick around, explore awhile, and dream a little.

We'll see you somewhere along the trail.

With love from Alaska,
Jordan & Adam
